Located in the Caribbean is the French island of Martinique. The distillery Saint James, which has its headquarters in Sainte Marie in Martinique, surprises Rumfreunde again and again with new Rhum Agricole varieties. Among the Agricole varieties is the Saint James Reserve Privée 12 years of rum, which is characterized by an elegant and complex taste. Many rums are made from molasses, but this particular rum undergoes a production based on pure sugarcane juice. The Saint James Company has its own sugarcane plantations in Mauritius, where the quality is constantly monitored and closely monitored by the "Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée". After its elaborate production and distillation, the Saint James Reserve Privée rests 12 years of rum in fine oak barrels in which cognac was previously allowed to ripen.
