La Hechicera is a fine, mature rum from the beating heart of the South Caribbean. A blend of aged rums of 12 to 21 years gracefully matured in American white oak casks.

Ours is an 'unpolished' rum, which means it retains the genuine qualities of the noble wood it breathes, it has not been rounded up with additives or sugar, its smoothness has been mellowing for decades.

Natural Alchemy

Alchemy is at the heart of La Hechicera’s story.

Rum is the creation of the Maestro Ronero, his expertise and knowledge - his ability to 'transmute' different rums of different ages into one fine blend.

Our raw distillates are cherry-picked from the most seminal sugar cane havens in South America and the Caribbean, then tested meticulously for the organoleptic and physiochemical qualities that will blossom in the tropical microclimate of Barranquilla, Colombia.

Our singular solera method of ageing is a labour intensive process that not only demands in-depth knowledge of chemistry, but also a good deal of intuition.

This is an intuition that our Maestro Ronero has honed through years of dedication at the forefront of the rum making process that has taken him from the manual labour of cutting sugar cane to the holistic understanding of the interaction between barrel, atmosphere, spirit and time.

As a family reserve spirit, it's flavour profile is exactly what we expect rum to be; deep woodiness with characterful notes of things Colombian, a heady scent of toffee and orange peel on the nose followed by a bold burst of flavour on the palate with distinctive notes of tobacco and roasted coffee.
