details
In Belfast, not only the ginger ale was invented, but also the box-shaped, deep sink nicknamed "Jawbox", which soon graced the home kitchens of the rich and poor. In the Belfast sink not only the kitchen utensils were cleaned, but also clothes, utensils and certain body parts of the entire family. It was so often in use that here the general gossip and gossip of the house was held. Gerry White, the developer of the Jawbox Classic Dry Gin, was so enthusiastic about it that he named his brand after the sink - a little in the hope that the gatherings of the gin drinkers would be equally talkative.
At the Echinville Distillery in Northern Ireland, Jawbox Gin is made by combining triple-distilled barley alcohol with eleven botanicals, whose aromas pass to the liquid in two different ways. On the list of ingredients are juniper berries, black mountain heather, coriander seeds, cassia, angelica root, orris root, kubeben pepper, lemon zest, cardamom, liquorice root and grains of paradise. The Jawbox Gin was declared with pride as a "single estate" gin, as the barley and water come from their own farm, which is also home to the distillery. The Botanicals, however, are not so regionally considered, because apart from the mountain heather many of the Aromengeber come from outside. Also included in this set is a vintage-style ceramic mug that is ideal for a variety of gin cocktails as well as coffee and tea.
