Based on a recipe from Beefeater founder James Burrough from the 1860s Master Distiller Desmond Payne has a gin created after his own words "a tribute to the tradition and distillation art of the house to embody Beefeater".


The result is a pale golden gin, with a delicate oak character. According to Beefeater, the Beefeater Burrough's Reserve Dry Gin has a long and complex finish with subtle citrus notes, juniper and a fine flavor. Staining of Beefeater Gin Burrough Reserve is due to the storage in specially selected oak barrels, which one indeed knows of the whiskey maturation. The oak barrels used in this case have been previously used for the maturation of a popular French vintage-aperitif called "Jean de Lillet". The pass characteristic of this aperitif flavors on the gin does not have to be specially emphasized and is the stated aim of this process.
