Dictador 12 Years Solera Rum is a blend of pressed sugar cane juice that has matured in the Solera system for between eight and fourteen years. It is brought to drinking strength drop by drop with demineralized water for 28 days and then bottled in the characteristic Dictador bottles.

Dictador comes from Colombia - a brand with a dominant name. Besides coffee and cigars, the Destilería Colombiana brings us one of the most famous rums in the country. Don Julio Arango y Parra founded the company in 1913 in Cartagena de Indias. Although international investors came on board in 2009, the brand remained in family ownership and is now managed by Don Hernan, the nephew of the company founder. Dictador gained worldwide recognition with its traditional Colombian rum, distilled from sugarcane honey, a concentrate of sugarcane juice. This rum is produced using column distillation systems and innovative new filtering techniques, such as coffee bean filtration. Due to the tropical, humid climate, combined with the Solera system, the distillates absorb the aromas from the oak barrels particularly quickly and intensively.
