The native forests, mountain meadows and orchards have always been a true botanist's paradise. Around the year, they collect the precious natural resources to later exploit their many uses. Capturing the fragrances and flavorings of the ingredients in liquid form is the job of the distillers. And since consumers have long since returned to regional products, there are more and more of those in Switzerland.
The makers of fir brandy are no longer debutants: the company Swiss Premium Drinks GmbH has already brought out the summit climber Heulikör. In a very similar direction it is also the case of fir brandy: Take an unconventional and yet widespread ingredient from the landscape and aromatize it with a high percentage of liquid. This time it's pine branches that are at the center of attention. The branches come from cleared silver firs from Steg in the Zurich Oberland and are laid for four weeks in Kernobstbrand. Finally, an authentic branch comes into the bottle, so that the fir schnaps far more than just the taste and smell stimulates.
