Character
MV stands for multivarietal, meaning that several grape varieties are blended together. The varieties are Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo and the composition is slightly different for each vintage. The MV is characterized by its intense aromas of dark berries, which interact wonderfully with the spicy notes from ageing in wood.

Terroir
The Dehesa del Carrizal estate is located in the middle of the Montes de Toledo, close to the Cabañeros National Park, between the Tajo and Guadiana basins.Dehesa del Carrizal is a Vino de Pago, the highest category under Spanish wine law. It is a DOP (Protected Designation of Origin) reserved for the few wineries and vineyards that carry out the entire process from grape to bottle within the boundaries of the Pago or estate. The unique location, soil and climate are the key to exceptional wines, and our vineyards are located on a raña, the local name for slopes and plains at the foot of a mountain that have been eroded by water and rain, causing the accumulation of clay and quartz sand. This erosion dates back to the Cambrian period and creates an interesting acidity thanks to the microclimate and humidity. In this exceptional place, the espalier vines absorb the aromas of the surrounding Mediterranean vegetation: Scrub, cistus, rosemary, thyme, our nearby olive grove, the cork oaks and some distant oaks.

Vinification / ageing
The MV matures for 8-10 months in French oak barriques
