The Bunnahabhain 12 Years impresses with an unadulterated taste, which could be obtained thanks to the abandonment of cold filtration.

Since 1881, the Bunnahabhain Distillery on the Scottish Isle of Islay produces whiskey - this is evidenced by two well-preserved letters from that time. The new version of Bunnahabhain 12 Years, unlike many other whiskies and fruit brandies, was not cold-filtered after cask aging. Cold filtration removes turbidity, as well as significant flavor carriers such as esters, proteins and fatty acids, so that the finished product does not color when it comes into contact with water. Bunnahabhain Distillery has recently dispensed with this step in order to preserve the true flavor aroma of the whiskey in an unadulterated manner. On this occasion, the devoted four-member team also immediately changed the bottle design and packaging. Three labels now adorn the 70cl bottle, giving clues to the flavor of the spirit. The sailor's image alludes to the distillery's special location on a lonely bay on the island's north coast, which local sailors and fishermen first pass when returning home.
