Your search could end here: Every Casamigos bottle features the signature of the popular actor as well as that of his friend Rande Gerber (Cindy Crawford's husband). Clooney is not the millionaire brand ambassador for Casamigos, but the co-founder. As always, it all started in 2013 with a real “crazy idea”. With the aim of finding a tequila that would not burn on the finish and would not spread a hangover, Clooney and Gerber tested hundreds of tequilas in Mexico on their newly acquired land in the village of Casamigos. They didn't need a new recipe, just the right distiller who was already producing the right spirit. The brand was quickly registered and exports began. When it came to marketing, the two knew how to get their message across: There's Clooney on a motorcycle in the Mexican wilderness, Clooney surrounded by smiling, hat-wearing farmers in an agave field and Clooney at a wet and cheerful celebration. The film also rained awards. The success was so great that Diageo bought Casamigos for one billion dollars in 2017.
Each Casamigos tequila is roasted in brick ovens for 72 hours and fermented for 80 hours with the addition of a special yeast strain before the actual distillation begins. The Añejo edition is then matured for 14 months to take on its darker color and multi-faceted aroma with caramel, vanilla and oak tones.
