BAILEYS TIRAMISU Limited Edition Cream Likör 70 cl / 17 % Irland
Baileys' limited edition Tiramisu takes the remarkable flavors of the layered dessert tiramisu and delivers them in liquid form.
David Dand is considered the creator of the world-famous cream liqueur. Where the name Baileys comes from, no one really knows: the company once claimed that a certain Mr. Bailey was the eponym, but this was cheating. The story of the drink began in Dublin in 1974, when David and his team started experimenting with Irish milk cream and whiskey. It took them three years to find a way to keep the two main ingredients from unmixing. Setting the shelf life at two years was similarly tricky. In 2005, the company began to diversify its product line.
They now launched Baileys Tiramisu as a limited edition: it is a blend of the original Irish Cream liqueur and typical tiramisu flavors. Tiramisu is a layered dessert from Italy made with cold espresso, ladyfingers, a cream of mascarpone, egg yolk and sugar, and cocoa powder. Often, a little amaretto is added to the espresso before it is drizzled over the ladyfingers; however, some gourmets resort to Baileys. If you Google "Baileys Tiramisu," you'll find dozens of recipes for home cooking. With the new liqueur, you can save yourself the 30-minute baking effort and prepare creamy, sweet dessert cocktails instead.
