The Hennessy VS is the standard distillate of the world's most famous cognac house: founded in 1765 in Cognac by the Irish officer Richard Hennessy, the house is now run by Gilles Hennessy in the eighth generation, although it belongs to the French luxury group LVMH today.

The Hennessy VS must have a minimum age of two to be eligible for the VS - very special rating. In fact, some of the Eaux-de-vie from which it is composed mature for up to eight years in new oak barrels of French Limousin Oak, which makes the Hennessy VS very special indeed!

The new oak barrels give the Hennessy VS a very intense tannin note, which makes this cognac a sensually appealing and aromatic brandy. More than 40 different eaux-de-vie from the Hennessy cellars are selected according to their particular characteristics and married to the Hennessy VS, which is bottled with a 40% alcohol content in the typical, stocky, long-necked bottles.

The Hennessy VS impresses with a clear amber color and an intense bouquet with distinct woody and fruity notes, which are accompanied by a fine spice. This aroma is rounded off by a strong, but not exaggerated, vanilla shot. On the palate, the Hennessy VS presents itself with a complex as well as soft body, which he owes to his base wines from the Grand Cru of the Petite Champagne. Fruity apricot and peach elements combine with vanilla and oak to create a vibrant and harmonious alliance that makes the Hennessy VS a great cognac for mixed drinks. However, the long finish also recommends it for pure enjoyment!
