Since 1888, the Brugal family has mastered the craft of making one of the best quality rums in the world according to an old family recipe. Only the Maestros Roneros, all members of the family, know the formula. They are also the ones who constantly refine the original recipe and season it with modern influences. This interplay is what gives Brugal Rum its authentic Caribbean taste. Today, Jassil Villanueva continues the legacy as the first female Maestra Ronera of the Brugal family. All of Brugal's ingredients come from the Dominican Republic. The selection is strict: only the best quality sugar cane, yeast and water are used for production. Brugal is one of the few rums whose production, aging and bottling take place exclusively in the Dominican Republic, true to the motto "Authentically Caribbean". This allows for careful control throughout the process.
This blend is composed of five- to 14-year-old distillates that matured in ex-bourbon casks and then received a refinement in ex-sherry casks.
