The light, sparkling Sol beer is after Corona the best-selling and internationally most famous Cerveza of Mexico. Sol got his name as follows:

In 1899, a German brewmaster developed a new beer in the old brewery 'El Salto del Agua' (the water spring) near Mexico City, when a bright sun broke through its bright, clear brew. This experience aroused his imagination and brought Sol his name and the bottle design, which is almost unchanged to this day.
