Already 600 years ago, the Archbishop of Trondheim Aslak Bolt recognized the grandeur of the hops as an aromatic addition to beer brewing. Every year he motivated the farmers in Trondheim to plant 10 hop seedlings to feed the monastery brewery. The Bolt IPA, with its concentrated hop aromas, pays homage to the early efforts in hop breeding and therefore bears his name.

Bolt IPA goes well with high-potency foods such as thaicurries, Mexican tacos, Indian chicken tikka masala or fresh cheese.
